The disciples must have been overwhelmed when Jesus gave them the Great Commission: "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation" (Mark 16:15). This must have seemed impossible. How were they to reach "all the world"?
The disciples never could have imagined how technology would make this possible in our day. We've seen the globe covered by media like television and radio, and new doors continue to open with changing media technology.
Just a generation ago, in the midst of the Cold War, much of Russia was blocked from Christian media. It seemed impossible to penetrate the "iron curtain." But today, Russians are able to hear and see the Gospel through many forms of media.
Also, consider the rapid spread of the Internet. According to a recent report from eMarketer, by the end of this year Russia will be the second largest Internet market in Europe, with 40 million Internet users. By 2012, it's projected that 43% of its population will have Internet access. Today, 10% of the Russian population turns to the Internet at least once a day, up from 3% just four years ago. But when they visit the Internet, what do they see? We need to be sure they are given an opportunity to see the Gospel!
Thanks to these new technologies, Christian Mix Inet has impacted thousands of people throughout Russia.
